Artist Statement
The human face is extraordinarily variable based on one’s heredity but people with Down syndrome have the same facial features, regardless of heredity, races, and ethics. We easily recognize people with Down syndrome by their facial features but we cannot identify the disorder that other trillion people with different facial features may have just by looking at their faces.
It is scientifically explained that Down syndrome is caused by an extra chromosome 21. People with Down syndrome have a unique facial appearance. What is the meaning behind this creation of nature? Why people with Down syndrome are unable to have the faces based on their heredity like other people who may or may not have a genetic disorder?
