Amirul Aiman
Born 1998, Selangor
Amirul Aiman’s artistic journey commenced in Taman Kosas, Ampang, where his parents’ architectural backgrounds nurtured his early interest in art. This foundational exposure to creativity led him to experiment with graphite and charcoal, igniting a profound passion for visual expression.
Although initially pursuing mechanical engineering for its practicality, Aiman remained committed to art. He utilized every available moment to sketch and draw, eventually transitioning to a fine art degree. This shift proved pivotal, enhancing his skills and deepening his exploration of various artistic techniques.
Aiman’s body of work is profoundly influenced by his fascination with the energy and dynamics of contact sports. His solo exhibition, IMPACTOGRAPHY: The Clash of Order & Chaos, represents a significant milestone as his first major solo show. Through innovative charcoal techniques, Aiman examines the delicate balance between order and chaos in athletics. His art employs bold lines and deep, dark strokes to convey the visceral impact and nuanced interplay between aggression and grace, inviting viewers to engage with the dramatic essence of sports and its complex emotional landscape.
