G13 Project Room : FRAGMENTS by Aphisit Sidsunthia
29 June - 13 July 2019
FRAGMENTS speaks on the visual perception of the artist’s past memories, history, and the present. The artist intends to represent certain subjects that deemed to have an attachment with his memories in a disruptive manner—where involuntary glimpses of images that came to mind are captured during the process of art-making. These images were haphazardly arranged and collaged together, anticipating new narrative and meaning. This series of works could be considered as a way in which the artist is attempting to resurface fragments of his subconscious memories, in hoping to decipher the correlation between each and every image, building up towards new sets of interpretation. The works in this series happen to have a similar ambiance with flash photography—where subjects are usually captured in a candid manner while the flashlight aided toward the illumination of the subjects, ultimately create this rush, hastily kind of feels in his artworks.
Aphisit Sidsunthia will be exhibiting six new artworks at G13 Project Room. The exhibition will runs from 29 June till 13 July 2019.
