G13 PROJECT ROOM : BEYOND MIND AND WORDS BY CHIN WAN KEE

G13 Project Room proudly presents ‘Beyond Mind and Words’, created by a Malaysian sculptor, Chin Wan Kee.

Chin Wan Kee, born in 1962, is a sculptor, painter and senior lecturer in the Creative Arts Department at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TARC). He has been granted several awards, including the Sculpture Award Spring Show from the Academy of Art University College, the United States in 1991, and won the National Visual Art Gallery Public Sculpture competition in 2000. Throughout almost twenty years, Chin Wan Kee has participated in numerous exhibitions and held four solo shows.

Since the beginning of his practice, Chin Wan Kee has already created dozens of sculptures devote to the essence of soul awakening. He admits that through his engagement with the materials, vis-à-vis making sculptures, and persistently creating artworks, he has been led to a better perception of himself and his purpose in life. ‘Beyond Mind and Words’ displays another set of sculpture series as a continuation of his previous oeuvre, ‘Sculpturing is Meditative’, exploring more thoroughly into his sense of identity, the query of truth, and the meaning of freedom.

‘Beyond Mind and Words’ will runs from 25th November until 12th December 2020 at G13 Project Room.
