This artwork reimagines a familiar moment of togetherness, a traditional gathering around food through deliberate, rhythmic horizontal cuts made across a painted canvas. At the center, a bowl of ais batu campur (ABC) stands as a symbol of culture, memory and shared experience. The resulting lines introduce a new visual rhythm that reflects both contemporary aesthetics and the layered nature of collective memory. These cuts do not destroy the image but instead reshape it, offering a fresh perspective on how continuity can emerge through transformation. The act of layering and restructuring invites reflection on how tradition and modernity can coexist within a harmonious visual language.

Trapped or Caught
Izzuddin Basiron
122 x 122cm
Mixed Media on Canvas
2025
RM7,500
Trapped or Caught uses bold, colourful geometric structures as a metaphor for power and control in today’s world. The work takes visual inspiration from well-known buildings like the TRX Tower, which stands for development but is also linked to growing issues of corruption. The bright, crisscrossing bars show how promises of development can sometimes trap us instead of setting us free.

Rempah Ratus, Aroma Malaysia
Izzuddin Basiron
122 x 153cm
Mixed Media on Canvas
2025
RM9,000
"Rempah Ratus, Aroma Malaysia" draws inspiration from the vibrant TTDI Market, a beloved neighbourhood hub in Taman Tun. While the painting focuses solely on the market’s architecture, its quiet form recalls the vivid colours of fresh produce, the aroma of spices, the chatter of vendors and the steady rhythm of daily life. The title underscores the market’s role as the foundation of every Malaysian kitchen where diverse ingredients, like our people, come together to create rich, layered flavours.

RM15,000
Pulang means "come home" to warmth, to love, to family. It represents a connection and a return to one's roots, not just to a place but to becoming who we truly are. The layered collage technique mirrors layered memories with each torn scrap representing stories reassembled into a holistic memory of home. No matter how far we go, we always look back to where we come from, not to regret the past but to learn from it.

At the break of dawn, while the sea still rests beneath a blanket of mist, a man lifts his hands in silent prayer. He places his fate in the hands of the heavens as he faces the vast, unpredictable ocean in search of sustenance.
On the shore, his wife waits with quiet strength. She does not wait merely out of longing, but with steadfast hope. Her eyes remain fixed on the horizon as she offers her own silent prayers, wishing for her husband’s safe return.
These paired works portray the quiet endurance of a fisherman and his wife. Their lives are bound by the sea, by devotion, and by the willingness to surrender to the unknown. One endures the waves; the other carries the weight of faith.
The artist’s careful rendering captures both the quiet beauty of devotion and the strength that underpins it. The classically painted floral frames enhance this symbolism. One frame, vibrant and harmonious, represents the ideal life the husband strives to provide. The other, more chaotic and textured, reflects the harsh realities and unseen struggles that make such dreams possible. Together, they create an emotional contrast between serenity and survival, between stability and sacrifice.

When immersing yourself in the unfamiliar world of an autistic child, diving in headfirst can often lead to a loss of balance as you strive to navigate and harmonize both realities. Understanding that moments of overwhelming challenges can push you to your limits, yet realizing that this phase will eventually transition, is what fuels your strength and motivates you to empathize and comprehend their unique situation.

I Stand Fine, yet a Summit Hidden Within
Raimi Sani
122 x 122cm
Oil on Canvas
2025
RM8,500
These portraits confront the hidden weight of undiagnosed pain where strength is mistaken for wellness and silence is forced by disbelief. They uncover the storm behind composure, showing how endurance can be misread as ease. The works insist that suffering is neither invisible nor imagined and call for recognition, compassion and justice for those carrying unspoken burdens.

Komodozilla: Hero or Villain?
Aimman Hafizal
121 x 152 cm
Acrylic on Canvas
2025
RM9,800
The artist reimagines the Malay proverb "Malang Pak Kaduk, ayamnya menang kampung tergadai," which means a fleeting victory can bring great loss. Through the tale of a carefree Komodo lizard who takes one innocent bite of a magical fruit and transforms into the colossal Komodozilla, he illustrates how joy can turn to devastation. Hero or Villain? This work reflects how small actions can lead to irreversible consequences.

Love & Chaos: The End of the Beginning
Shafiq Nordin
182 x 158cm
Acrylic on Canvas
2025
RM30,000
'Love & Chaos: The End of the Beginning' reflects the artist’s wish as a father. He imagines riding a pop-colored horse with his child, moving through a chaotic world, not with weapons, but with colors and hope. The horse becomes a symbol of strength and peace, carrying them toward calm. This work is his quiet plea for a gentler world where his child can grow up surrounded by wonder, not war.

Riding the Viral Wave
Shafiq Nordin
100 x 80cm
Acrylic on Canvas
2025
RM7,800
“Riding the Viral Wave” satirizes Malaysia’s obsession with virality, where social media turns trivialities into national focus. A koi once symbolizing perseverance is aimlessly ridden, reflecting shifting values of success. With hibiscus as backdrop and bubble tea in hand, the work humorously critiques a society chasing online attention over progress.

ISSUES: Shark Finning 2
James Seet
51(H) x 30(W) x 30(D)cm
Ceramic
2024
RM18,000
The artwork exposes the cruelty of killing sharks for their fins, highlighting the urgent need to preserve marine biodiversity. This geode-like vessel represents the ocean’s beauty, with vibrant sharks swimming toward the vessel’s mouth, only to lose their fins, depicted like sharp teeth around the opening. This transformation captures the brutality of shark finning, which is driven by demand for shark fin soup and threatens shark populations. Sharks are vital to ocean ecosystems, and their loss destabilizes marine life. Through this piece, the artist urges respect for these creatures and an end to the unnecessary cruelty of finning.

“Caring for a pet is a commitment to their well-being, a truth I encountered firsthand when I took in two stray kittens. Their transformation from vulnerable strays to beloved companions highlighted the urgent issue of stray cat populations and their impact on our environment. Stray cats, as natural hunters, disrupt local ecosystems and contribute to shelter overcrowding. Through my ceramic art, I seek to raise awareness of this complex issue, encouraging conversations around responsible pet ownership and compassionate intervention. Together, we can help create safer communities for stray cats and support a healthier balance within our ecosystems.”
