Mujarad Naga Tasek Chini By Abdullah Jones

G13 Gallery is pleased to present Mujarad Naga Tasek Chini, the third solo exhibition by Abdullah Jones. A total of 15 paintings are shown by the artist in this exhibition. This new series of works is inspired by the legends of Tasik Chini, which focus on a creature called Naga (dragon).

Being the second-largest natural freshwater lake in Peninsular Malaysia, Tasik Chini is now being destroyed and polluted by current deforestation and mining activities. Hence, awareness about the environment is what Abdullah Jones tries to bring out in his latest series of works. He studied in-depth about the folktale and reinterpreted them in a contemporary abstract way on the canvas with his very own identities, wishing the legends to come alive once more and remind us of nature at its finest which we were once proud of.

Mujarad Naga Tasek Chini runs from 26 March to 9 April 2022 at G13 Gallery.
