Flowers Don’t Lie
Solo Exhibition by Palito Perak
19 Apr - 3 May 2025
G13 Gallery is proud to presentFlowers Don’t Lie, a solo exhibition by Indonesian artist Palito Perak. Renowned for his introspective visual language and layered symbolism, Palito unveils a compelling new body of work that navigates the delicate balance between blurred vision and focused intention, between the allure of beauty and the unease of uncertainty.
Drawing deeply from everyday experiences, socio-political undercurrents, and reflections on technological transformation, Palito’s art frequently engages with the concept of simulacra—constructed realities that distort or manipulate our understanding of truth. In Flowers Don’t Lie, this theme is rendered through hazy, out-of-focus floral imagery paired with gentle affirmations such as “The Sun Will Come Up.” These works create a striking paradox: visual forms that resist clarity, yet communicate a powerful and unambiguous message.
For Palito, flowers become symbolic vessels of the unpredictable nature of the future. They embody fragility and hope, beauty and risk. Each petal and bloom stands as a metaphor for aspiration, and for the persistence required to pursue one’s dreams in a world that often feels unstable. The recurring text elements in his work serve as quiet affirmations—statements of resilience, encouragement, and optimism amidst the noise of modern life.
Flowers Don’t Lie invites viewers to slow down and look more deeply. It does not offer sharp lines or definitive answers, but instead asks us to seek meaning within the haze. Through this visual journey, Palito reminds us that even when reality becomes blurred, purpose and clarity of spirit remain within reach.
