Contemporary Propulsion

G13 Gallery hereby announced to present 13 local talents in our upcoming group exhibition entitled Contemporary Propulsion: Influence and Evolution in this coming March, who artists are graduated from Dasein Academy of Art, or currently host a lecturer post in the institute. These artists including Cheong Tuck Wai, Chong Kiet Cheng, Chong Kim Chiew, Gan Tee Sheng, Kim Ng, Koo Kiew Hang, Krystie Ng, Loh Bok Lai, Muji Lee, Tiong Chai Heing, Yin Yen Sum and Tham Yoke In.

One who is familiar with the art scene would have noticed the emergence of this local art institute, especially in these recent years, the school has nurtured a number of significant artists budding in the field. From self-organized exhibitions to commercial galleries, it is clear to see the rise of these talents as well as the brimming strength shown in their exercises. The fascination of these artists and their artworks has call out our attention to go deep into the domain.

We came across finding out how the community engaged with one another, the close relationship maintains in between lecturers and students, seniors and juniors. The inevitability of ideas, thoughts and conversations swap between their practices would rather be interesting to find out. Furthermore, aside from the what being introduced from the school, stimulants after stepping out the school are also important, of how they being brought up to new perspective and vision reflect in their practices too.

Hence in this exhibition we aim to showcase a diverse variety of artwork with different mediums and genres, audiences can look forward to expect great surprises from this exhibition, of works ranging from realistic paintings to refined sculptures to conceptual driven installations.
