Khoo Sui Hoe
Khoo Sui Hoe (b. 1939, Baling, Kedah) is one of Malaysia’s most celebrated contemporary artists, known for his surreal and expressionistic style that merges landscapes with imaginative forms. A graduate of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore (1959), and the Pratt Graphic Center, New York (1974), Khoo’s illustrious career spans over six decades. He has held more than 50 solo exhibitions worldwide, including notable showcases in the United States, China, and Southeast Asia.
Khoo’s works often feature mask-like faces, natural shapes, and dreamlike landscapes, imbued with emotional power and a sense of universality. His paintings are included in prominent public and private collections such as the National Art Gallery of Malaysia, Singapore Art Museum, and the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia, cementing his legacy in the global art scene.
