Artist Statement
‘ Credit Card Slave ’ highlights the grieving economic state of the nation through the portrayal of the local landmark (Petronas Twin Towers) being dissected only to reveal the ugly truth of oppression of the people by the men that governs them. Gold figures are depicted as the higher authority which enslaves the people to make a good case for them while reaping the benefits of each individual at the same time. Gan Sze Hooi continues to shed a light on national topic of the politics and social economy of the people through his artwork.

Artist Statement
‘ Manifestation Player ’ reveals the disconnection of two efforts in promoting prosperity and development of a country. The handshake as portrayed is to symbolized agreement between two parties while the seemingly joined stairs are not bridged due to not able seeing matters eye to eye. Gan Sze Hooi creates two opposing visuals based on the cancelation of ‘October Fest’ incident that took place last year. The dynamic of those two does not seem to lead any fruition to the country’s success if the nation does not stand hand in hand every step of the way.
